16u-Open - November 1-2 - Quakertown, PA

1-2 pool play, 0-1 bracket play, 5th place

Scream began their final tournament of the fall against TYA Xplosion. The offense put up five runs in the first following doubles from Taylor Wilson, Josa Burris, and Ella Lee. Anna Davidson hit an RBI double of her own in the third, while Lee and Burris plated runs to extend the lead. Gennie Aul and Davidson hit RBI singles in the fourth and Burris recorded her fourth and fifth RBIs with another two-run double. Thirteen runs was plenty for pitcher Megan Sparks to cruise to a win. She allowed 4 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits while striking out 2 over 4 innings of work.

Game two was versus Phillies UYA. Wilson once again began the game with an RBI double, but the opposition responded with three runs in the second. The girls came back with five runs of their own following a Lee double, Charley LaBarbera single, and Davidson single. However, the opposition would score four unanswered runs in the final inning, ending the game as a 7-6 loss. Bella Rosselli pitched 3.2 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 6 hits, striking out 7 batters.

The final pool play game was against Plumstead Scream Red. Plumstead scored two runs in the first, but Davidson cut the lead in half with an RBI single in the third. The opposition added two more in the third, extending the lead to 4-1, chasing starter Lee (3 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 1 K) from the game. Davidson pitched a scoreless inning in relief, picking up two strikeouts. The offense attempted to rally from behind, with Lee and Davidson both hitting RBI doubles. However, it fell just short and resulted in a 4-3 loss.

Sunday’s bracket began with a rematch against Plumstead Scream Red. The pitching was the story of the game, as both staffs limited any offense. Scream plated a run in the second after Burris hit a double to right field. The score would remain 1-0 until the fifth inning, when an unearned run would score for Plumstead, tying the game. This tie remained after seven innings of play, sending the game into ITB. Plumstead walked it off in the bottom of the eighth after Scream failed to score, ending the fall season. Davidson recorded her best pitching performance of the season, pitching into the eighth inning. She allowed 2 unearned runs on 5 hits, while striking out 11 batters.
